Still Under Construction

As I got back into my workout regimen today, I was in my feelings about all the things that had taken place lately. I needed an outlet, so I decided to write this poem.
Shattered windows. Shattered dreams. Ulterior motives it seems. Pieces of him. Pieces see of me. It’s just too bad the blind are the first to . Legacies undone. A man gone before the sun. Set on his life. Fatherless kids gloom amongst the ranks. Souls torn for they have witnessed the Shawshank before the redemption. It’s sad because some may never get this. The past remain the present with heavily coated makeup. Covering up all the blemishes. Showing the beautiful exterior when it the interior that is “Still under construction.” Keep out and skull bones signs show there is imminent danger, but how can one know when the package has been adorned to protect?

Never Judge A Book By It's Cover

This is exactly why you should never judge a book by it's cover. The interesting part is sometimes you judge things or people based on one thing and they turned out another way.

Lay's Girl

It's official! I'm a Lay's Girl.

Lay's is celebrating something called "One Million Summer Moments Made Better."

In doing so, they are allowing people to upload an instagram photo, personalize their own bag of Lay's Potato Chips, and then receive a free bag of Lay's.

The company has definitely created a great marketing strategy. All they had to do was create this brilliant plan and watch social media enthusiasts take to the free bag of chips and photo placement opportunities.

Strategies like this set the company a part from those who have been in the game in a while and those who want to stay.

Lay's has shown that the company wants to stay in the chip business and continue to create marketing strategies to maintain and even increase sales.

Grab you bag today, while supplies last.

Poetry, Pastry, and Punch Event

I attended the Poetry, Pastry, and Punch event on Saturday, May 7, 2016 as a performer. The event was great. It was created by Author Renaee Perrier-Smith and MC'd by Elijah Brown. Mr. Brown did a great job as he discussed his road to success, introduced the performers, and made everyone feel at ease in performing. He even discussed the poet's performance after they performed and performed some of his own. The pastries made by Author Renaee were absolutely amazing. She had coconut cake, cranberry almond, carrot cup cakes, and more. Below, you will see my performance, Sonya Felice, and Jamal Hinnant.

On Thursday, April 14, 2016, I had the opportunity to interview Se'Quince Aiken, who has been an author since 2014. Se'Quince has Cerebral Palsy and does not seem to all that to stop her from her goals and objectives. She is an author, an owner of her own company, and is a very inspiring young lady.

She will be a Featured Author in the Children's Book Festival developed by ADC Kid and Hampton Publishing House LLC. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12 PM at the Haddon Avenue Street Festival.

The New Face of Disabilities Twitter Party- Jessica Baggett

I conducted my first Twitter Party with Jessica Baggett on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. The purpose of the Twitter Party was to discuss her disabilities, her abilities, her passion, and her current work. This event is in direct correlation to my book, The New Face of Disabilities, which is about changing the mindset of those who think negatively about those who have a disability.  The book details ways to work with individuals, commonly use terminology, employment data, and resources to getting individuals assistance in going to work. These individuals are able, willing, and more than ready to be integrated within society. Support them and their efforts to be successful.
